I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. Many have given, and together you’ve made it possible for me to go to the Dominican Republic to train pastors with Andrew and RMI’s Ezra Institute School of Leadership. Here is the origional post if this is news to you.
This means so much to me. The friendships God has given us over the years, in camp, church, and missions are humbling. And life changing. To be part of what God is doing through your prayers, giving, and this opportunity is a privilege I don’t take lightly.
I’m heading out soon, and I’ll carry your prayers and support with me. Thank you for believing in this work and for standing with me. I can’t wait to share what happens next.
OH – The picture. Missions often has a “you don’t see this every day” moment. This was one. It was 2010 after the Haitian earthquake and we were building a home – a shed to be used as a home really – outside of Port-au-Prince. Anyway, this tarantula had become a bit of a friend, always crawling around under the tarp we used for shade when we took our breaks. Then on our last day of work, the mother/wife was standing with us on the front porch when a monsoon came over. Out came our friendly spider. She screamed in Creole, translation, “Not in my house!” and stomped it flat.
With a bare foot!
Not something you see every day.
Dan
